Cindy’s mom and my dad –
We had a dream and instead of nurturing it they slammed a
lid on it and now 45 years later the lid is still on it.
What is a dream to a kid – it is a window to the future – it
is the opportunity to see the road ahead and start down the path to their
future. Sometimes, but what happens when that dream is squashed? Or even just
belittled or put in doubt? It is like putting a lid on the pot or closing the
window and lowering the blinds. The child knows that the dream was there but it
is taken away from them and they are left holding on to the memory of what
could have been instead of the beginning of what can be. About 40 years ago
Cindy and I both had dreams and they were squashed, only now are we willing to
look at them again and consider what if and is there still time? Is it truly “better
late than never?”
